Surnames: McPeck Deguido Beckworth
Hi everyone, I'm looking for some guidance on finding my mothers birth father.

My mother was adopted when she was just 1 day old. She was born in Flushing Queens New York. She has met her birth mother and I have created the family tree for that. There's still a big piece missing, her birth father. My mother has since passed away not knowing who her real father was.

Now with all this new DNA testing out I thought there may still be a chance finding some information on my grandfather.

My question is.. Will ancestry DNA help me with this puzzle?

PLEASE any feedback is accepted.

My moms name at birth was Patricia last name is unknown

Her mothers name was Doris Mcpeck Deguido Beckworth.

Ancestry DNA testing only came to my country yesterday but, I have used both FamilyTreeDNA and 23andme. I like FamilyTreeDNA the most but hopefully I will have some ancestryDNA experience in the next couple of months.
Since people test at various labs you may want to consider testing at all 3 labs noted above. Then the real work of sorting out all those matches (1000s) making contacts (if they reply, percentage of replies are low) and trying to find common ancestors. Common ancestors will rely on good conventional genealogy family trees. The process may take a long time (years) since you are relying on people taking a DNA test and those numbers are small.

Hi
You can upload the results on Gedmatch. You have chances to get more significant matches there and tools are great. If you need help, send me a private message. Good luck.
