I'm seeing more and more trees getting pasted with icons saying a particular ancestor or line was "confirmed" by DNA. I don't see how some one back 5 to 8 generations can have DNA that is confirmed. Even if there is a starred hint, it is still possible that two people could have arrived at the same paper trail though faulty info. The best that could be said is that there are some extension of matches with a particular ancestor that would indicate a relationship. Or am I wrong? I can't really say that my DNA results "proved" a connection with a certain ancestor, but only made it more likely to be true.
Or am I missing something?
