I have a DNA match that is 95% confident in a 4th-6th cousin range. The only person that I have found, so far, in our trees that is a match is someone 12 generations back and I have doubts that branch in my tree is actually correct. Would a 95% confidence level in 4th-6th cousins possibly go back as far as 12 generations or is it more likely my DNA match and I share a closer ancestor?
