GEDMatch interpretation - xDNA question

I think my data is still being processed (I still have ** next to my kits), but my strongest match (within 4.3 generations) so far is to a male (I'm female).

Chr Start Location End Location Centimorgans (cM) SNPs
8 1,935,345 6,460,696 11.8 2,863

We do not share any xDNA. According to GEDMatch:

"since any 'father-son' generation will kill X inheritance, this information can be useful for reducing the ancestral paths that you need to investigate while tracking down the common ancestor."

Can I interpret this to mean that this match is related only through my father?

I'm looking for my Dad's birth family, so this could be quite a useful lead.
