I am sorry for the lack of information contained, however I have very limited information. I am seeking information on a train wreck that occured as early as 1910 and as late as the early part of 1922. Here is the info that I have:

Family (lore), says that my hubby's great grandfather was an engineer for a railroad in Canada (he states this as his occupation on a baptism record for one of his children), and that he was the cause of a terrible accident. After the accident he was a wanted man (I dont know if he was wanted by the police or the crown or who), and that he hid out and worked somewhere in Canada until he had enough money, then he snuck his family and himself to Alburg, Vermont, USA in 1922. His name was Albert Norbert Martin b. 1884 in St. Cyrille de Milton, Quebec, Canada. He married in 1904 in St. Cyrille de Wendover, and his first child was born in 1910. The story in the family says that after the accident he "left his wife and small children" so I dont know if there was more than one child or not. After sneaking to the US one more child was born. Norbert as he went by in Canada never returned not even for the funerals of close family members. His wife left him and their children and moved back to Canada after 1930, and she never returned to the US, the children went to Canada to see her, but Albert Norbert never went with them.

Now that we have that covered, if anyone thinks that the fugitive engineer sounds familiar please contact me, as it is an intresting yarn and would be more so if it were really true. Sorry for the length of this.

Cheers,
