The accident happened on the 12th Sept 1906. The railroad was CPR and it was a head-on between train #1 westbound and #2 eastbound. These two trains were due to meet at Azilda. #1 stopped at the entrance to the passing track and waited for #2 to stop. However, two dangling chains had shut the air cock behind the third car of #2 and when the engineer applied the brakes only the brakes on the first three cars came on. He overan the passing point and hit #1 hard and 12 people were killed. I have some names but as I can't find if you posted the name, I cannot check this.
