As a reseracher of Nova Scotia railway history, I am compiling
information on the unhappy "career" of a locomotive that workers at the Moncton Intercolonial Railway shops felt was haunted.
This locomotive was involved in a fatal event described only as being "north of Moncton," sometime between May of 1903 and November of 1904 (probably closer to 1904 since news reports of the accident in which it was involved at that time indicated it had only been out of the Moncton shops on three or four trips.
I do apologize, but I have no more detail than this.
Does anyone have in their lineage a railway employee (the sole fatality) most likely the locomotive driver, who was killed at this time in such an acident?
