Can anybody tell me the procedures in Victorian Times (around 1884/5) when somebody goes missing? Is there an inquest or equivalent? Is a Death certificate issued? After how long? What might it say? According to family legend my great Grandfather 'disappeared' i.e. left for work and never returned.
