I just found a relative Frank Pettit b.10 aug 1920 was listed in the U S Census for 1940 in WV Prison data - Moundsville, WV

I would love to find our what he was in for and details of how long ect. Does anyone know how to find out the information on past prisoners? He died in west virginia on 20 Sep 1987 and is found on Find A Grave web site also.

Any help would be very much appreciated.
