I am researching the families of the The james Bros. and Billy the Kid. My father had always claimed a relationship to the james Bros. somehow through his grandfather who was a friend(this is true, we have documents) of Pat Garrett. I would like to see for myself the ancestry of these two families. If anyone can help me, I'd be greatly appreciative. Please email me directly at : Smile@endor.com

Thank you so very much in advance.

I have a book called "Jesse and Frank James:
The Family History " by Philillip W Steele, published by Pelican Publishing Company, Inc 1101 Monroe St Gretna, LA 70053 in 1991. I am not sure now where I bought it.

It contains names of much of the family and connections, some family pictures ( ranging from those of Frank and Jesse, their mother to some of today's descendants), as well as locations where the family lived .and is pretty interesting. Hope it can still be found and will be helpful.

Marilyn and everyone,
Pelican Publishing is on-line at http://www.pelicanpub.com/ I don't know if they have this book, but they continue to sell many books they published years ago, so it might be there. I recently found a great book on Ozarks folklore there. They have books I haven't seen anywhere else.

My mothers maiden name is Inman , her mother was a bonny and my mother told me Billy's name was William Howard Bonny and the story she told me is pretty much like the movie that Val Kilmer played in. My g/grand father's name was William Isaac Bonny. I believe that Billy may have taken the name of the rancher that he and his mother lived with. I would love to see the
Documents you have. thank you Alice Wilson(minnieinman@gmail.com)
