Final Rites Held For Early Settler
PORUM, March 24-(Special)-
Funeral services were held her Saturday afternoon
for J.C. West, 87 years old, who died at the home
of his daughter in Muskogee.
West a one of the oldest citizens of Muskogee county,
and spent his entire life in eastern Oklahoma. He
resided near Porum for more than 40 years, but for
the past three years has lived in Muskogee.
He was an Indian policeman for many years, and was the
first deputy United States marshal in this part of the
country.
