My great grandfather, John Joseph Whelan DOB: 10/5/1879, joined the RIC on June 1, 1899 in Naas, County Kildare, Ireland. A cousin has been able to acquire his service records-I have had no success to date. Anyone out there who can advise me as to who to contact to get great grandpa's records?
