My great great great grand mother used to tell my grand father that told me they was related to Jesse and Frank James and the harbored and hid them from time to time.

My great great great grandmother maiden name is Inez James her fathers name is George W. James
I have what information I have on my family on the ancestry site but cant find the conection to Jesse and Frank if any can help I would really appreciate the time taken

Hey. I saw your post and I thought I would inquire. My mother swears up and down that we are related to the James' family. She keeps saying it is Jesse James. So, here is my question. Can you help? I have some info that may help.

Clarence Beck is my grandfather.
His parents were Charles Beck and Nettie Fern Worly.
Then Charles father was William S Beck. He was here from 1840-1929.

I wish I could give you more information but that's all I've got. I would be surprised if we were related but who knows.

Also, my grandmother does have paperwork with all of my family's history down to when they came over to America.So, I have access to basically all of Jesse and Frank family information up to when I was born.I think they have also been keeping track since then because I now have a son and they feel that it is important to remind us of our family and who we are.We wear the relation proudly.So, if there is anyone who feels that they might be related,I would be glad to give some additional detail from our paperwork.Jesse and Frank had over 20 kids between them.So, we're everywhere!!lol

My name is Tamara Riley McKown.My father's mother's family are direct descendants of the James family.One of Jesse's sons married into my great great grandmothers family and they had children.The name then changed into Vestal.And my grandmother(who is a vestal) married a Riley.Anyhow,all of the men pretty much changed their names to leave the "James Gang" stigma behind and the women were all married to men with other names.I do believe,however,that there is still 1 descendant with the James name.Frank actually ran a store in Benton County, TN with my family before he traveled back to missouri and died there at the farm.He was very close with my great grandfather and some of my relatives who are recently deceased had the opportunity to be quiet close with Frank.Jesse James is technically my great great great uncle by blood and Frank continued to be close with our family after his passing.

So is your ggg grandfather John Hedges? Roy's brother? you know Mary "minnie" jf Hedges and lewis had a daughter named mable that dies at 10 months? She's burried their too. In friends creek you will find her grave.. Minnie died from a blood poisoning, of some sort. That is what my very oldest realative said.... That explains the inscription on Mary "Minnie" headstone.. See, Lewis lost a daughter then his wife.. but John and Roy, my great grandpa, were the two surviving children of Lewis and Mary "minnie" James francis Hedges....lol.... Then Lewis remarried and had two daughters. They lived in shelby county, IL. Argenta and Mowequa.. County lines changed back then though so you need to search in Macon county, Illinois too...

I am a direct decendant of mathew howard of james town colony an later arundel county maryland. Any way sometime around 1870 frank an jesse visited my great great grandfather here in colbert county alabama who had been a confederate cavarly soldier in the war an the story goes that they were cousins.

I did a DNA sample on www.23andme.com, and the website said that I was related to Jesse James on my mothers side. I have no idea how. 23andme isn't something I have spent alot of time with, and they don't have anything set up to share with Ancestry, so the help I have gotten from that has not been great for ancestry. They also give you health risks based on your DNA. I can tell you my maternal haplogroup is T2b, and I would share genomes on 23andme if you join.

My late Grandpa ( Jesse Howard James) son of Benjamin Franklin James, said that Jesse called him after he had supposedly passed. From what I heard he didn't take the call seriously, but it haunted him afterwards. Do you by chance know how I am related to them? All of my Aunts and Uncles have passed and I haven't a way to find out.

and from what I've found online my Great Great Grandpa was: Thomas James.

My family has searched for info on if we are relatives of frank James, we have got to are 4great grandmother mini James she married my 4 great grandfather Lewis hedges and we have a picture of mini James with her mother and father but the picture was not labled with any names besides mini, but her father looked very much like frank James. When mini died after giving birth to my 3 great grandfather on her tombstone was engraved Mary Francis James , Francis was a alias that Jesse and frank used to hide from the law, I am very curious can anyone help me out?

Does anyone know for sure if they are related to Frank or Jesse? In climbing the family tree on my Mothers side, I was told that my great, great grandmother had relations with frank and my great grandmother was born from the encounter. she was born with her mothers maiden name. the tree ended there. The only way to verify the story would be through dna testing of known relatives. Does anyone know if this is a possibility. I know that the website is working on a dna database but dont know if it will get down to personal dna or just tell you what part of the world your heritage came from. Any one know?

I was told that my biological father is a downline of Frank. His name was Roger Franklin Endicott ... his father had a striking resemblance to Frank in photos I saw when I was younger .... however both my biological father and grandfather are deceased. Any help on tracking that line would be loads of help!

Grannie Clara Mae James was a little girl and her parents would have Frank and Jesse over for supper. She passes away three years ago...she was a wealth of information. they would have lived in mccurtain co oklahoma. so yes your story is correct.

Located in Historic Edgefield

The James Home is located in the Historic Edgefield Community of Nashville which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
According to noted western historians the home housed the James Family from shortly after the Northfield Bank robbery (Sept. 7, 1876) until March 25, 1881, the day after Bill Ryan, a James gang member, was captured at Earthman's Saloon in the White's Creek area of Davidson County. The family then moved to Saint Joseph. During this period Jesse used the name J.D. Howard.
The house was built during the mid 1850s. The front section of the house is 2 story and the rear section is a single story. The house was abandoned during the 1970s and subsequently was condemned in 1983. The house was scheduled for demolition in Jan. 1984. The current owner purchased the house shortly before the demolition. The restoraion of the project took three years to complete.
On May 18, 1989, the Metropolitan Historical Commission awarded the prestigious Architectural Award for the restoration work on the property. A bronze plaque remains with the house as long as it is preserved in its historical context.
The James Home has been shown on local and national TV news. In addition, stories about the house have appeared in numerous books, magazines, and newspapers.

You wrote that your uncle is a descendant. FYI your uncle is the brother of either your mother or father. This makes your mother or father a descendant too as they had the same mother and/or father, yes? And since one of your parents is a descendant, so are you!

My father's grandfather on his dad's side is named Jesse James. Jesse's mother is named Mary. I guess that would be Jesse James and Mary Campbell. My father's father's name was Virgil. I haven't been able to find any information at all about Virgil and before. I wish I had more information and was able to find more information.

Hi there, We have the same grandparents so we must be cousins. I also am in Australia, NSW. Was your father, Cecil, Harold (known as Tom) or Wally? They were my fathers brothers. Would love to hear more from you and would love to meet anyone from Goulburn. My father was Victor George Stanley Abrahams.I have 6 brothers. I do have some of the family tree, my niece found a fair bit a number of years ago I have been in contact with a relative of Mary Ann Cowling who lives in England. If I can help you with anything please let me know. My father passed away just over 30 years ago and he did not tell us much about his family. I do remember going to my Uncle Tom's place at Narrabeen a couple of times and his daughters were Pauline, Helen, Christine and son Michael. Uncle Wally had a daughter Margaret, I think and a son also named Michael and Uncle Cec, also lived at Narrabeen but we did not have a lot to do with him. Uncle Tom was my favourite, his wife was Beryl.I am named after Susan Hodge, my grandmother.
