Hi,
John Johnson (17yrs) was convicted of stealing 7 Apr., 1824 at the Old Bailey and sentenced to transportation for 7 years.
He arrived on the "Royal Charlotte" 18 July, 1825, and was assigned to Berry & Wollstonecraft to work on their property "Coolangatta Estate" in the Shoalhaven.
In 1827, I believe he was made overseer. (It seems a young age (20) to be made overseer). I also believe he was granted his Ticket of Leave in 1829. How can I confirm this? Then, with such a common name, is there a way of finding any details of marriage, children and death with only the info. as above?
Thanks in anticipation,
Alan Mac.
