I am trying to find any info regarding the apparent convict parents of my great grandfather, Charles John JONES.

Charles John JONES was apparently born and certainly lived around the Armidale area of NSW. I have been told that a lot of convicts were sent to the Armidale/Port Macquarie area.

Charles was born in approx. 1850, married Elizabeth Hosey (convict parents Hugh HOSEY and Mary DENNEHY / DOHENY / DENAHY) in 1870 at Glen Innes, NSW and was a teacher between 1885 and 1913 in small country Schools in the Armidale / Tamworth / Taree areas of NSW.
