This ancestor was convict No 5605 arriving Hobart 8 October 1837 on board the Recovery. He was transported for life from Cambridgeshire for sheep stealing (I have the criminal record from 5 April 1837 Isle of Ely sessions). I have sent a request today to Tasmanian archives for more info. Would be most grateful for any other links - especially to know if it is likely that he had any children.
