Just one more question about the 1930.

The daughters Johanna abt 1905 and Rosa Schwamberger abt 1907 were not married then. Did they live in the same houshold. They were still in Newport RI

I wasn't able to find your D'Andrea's, although there were quite a few of them in the 1905 Census. I checked the 1904 Providence City Directory and there was a Francesco D'Andrea, laborer, living on Acorn St. In the 1905 directory he was living on Murphy St. Not sure why I couldn't find him in the '05 Census though.

Better luck with Manuel Pascoal, and glad you gave his Trenton St address or I wouldn't have found him::

Manuel Pasa, 70 Trenton St, Providence, R.I. 3 people live in his household. He was born Dec 9, 1881. He and his parents were born in Portugal, and he immigrated in 1905, which he states was 4 months ago (so around Feb.). He has resided in Prov for 4 months. He's a laborer and also Catholic.

Mary Pasa, wife of Manuel was born Jan 12, 1886. She has 1 child.
All other info is the same as Manuel's

Mary Pasa, born Aug 17, 1904 and is 10 mths old.
All other info is the same as her parents.

I know some of this census info is different then what you stated in your post, but I'm pretty sure this is your Manuel Pascoal.

If you want a copy of the census pages, contact me off the board with your address, and I'll be glad to mail them to you.

Year: 1850; Census Place: New York Ward 17, New York, New York; Roll: M432_556; Page: 424; Image: 346.

Only one David Price, b. NJ 1810+/- 2 yrs anywhere.

A tip. It is very hard to distinguish David and Daniel on most handwriting. Expand your searching to look for both names. This census is very clearly a David. (No Daniel Price either)

David Price, 44, teacher, NJ
Ann, 44, England
Augusta Haight, 22, NY
Martha Harmason, 17, MD

I don't know the name of his wife that is one of the reasons I wanted to check the census. I was told that he died in Rhode Island in 1851 so I thought that he might be in the 1850 census there.

Is there more than one David Price who was born in New Jersey living in Rhode Island in 1850?

I am looking for information about my grand father FRANK Francis MARTIN, and his family. We believe he was borned in Worcester or New Bedford, Massachusetts, in March 1899. We also know that his father name was John Martin (his parents was Irish), and his mom was Mary O’Connell (she was Irish or her parents was Irish) His Brother was John Martin, or William Martin and his sister was Mary Francis. They lived in Worcester, Mass – in 1900 (maybe)
We also know that he lived in
1910- 1911- 1913..... 399 Eddy Street, Providence, R.I.
1918 63 Sheldon Street, Providence, R.I. … (with his sister Mary Francis Martin)
1920..21..22…..1926 418 ½ Wickenden St , Providence, R.I. (with his sister Mary Francis Martin) or 418 ½ Wickham street, Providence

And then he moved to Panama in Central America. ( + o - 1926)
Here is my grandfather’s military service record (s)
1920 – 1922 Accepted for enlistment at Providence R.I. (Hon. Discharged at Fort Adams R.I.
1923 – 1925 Accepted for enlistment at Providence R.I. (Hon. Discharged) at Fort Hamilton, N.Y.
1926 – 1929 Accepted for enlistment at Providence R.I. (discharged) at Fort Sherman, Canal Zone, Panama, Republic of Panama. Unfortunately he died pretty young in Panama, in 1955. We believed he had more relatives in USA and we are looking for some information about them. Please and Thanks.
Maria Alejandra Martin
Panama (Central America)

THANKS.......

My granfather said that he born in New Bedford and they answered from the City of New Bedford in 1938 that they were not finding his birth. On the other hand they answer him from City or Worcester, Mass, that turns out to be like born there 22 of March of 1899 and that his parents were John J. Martin and Mary O'Connell (Martin) . His brother John B, his sisters Mary and

According to Panama Channel Commission in 1900 my grandfather appears in the census of Worcester, Mass, in Street Canterbury and and also appears his parents and a major brother called John.

It turns out that my grandfather writes in several documents that he remembers two directions (addresses) where he lived in USA, before coming to Panama.
He says:
1910 I lived in 399 Eddy Street, Providence
1920 I lived in 418 ½ Wickham Street, Providence with his sister Mary E. Francis

On the one hand, we do not know if Mary E. Francis is her name with the married name (Francis) or is the third name of his sister. On the other hand he mentions that after his born he always had lived in Rhode Island, not in Worcester.

These are some reasons for that does not match with the one founded with the censuses we got.
Also we found a notebook of my grandmother (that did not spoke English and we do not know how they were understanding each other … haha), and it said that grandfather has a sister Martha and a brother William E.

We do not have an idea now, for that always we thought that his sister was Mary, like my grandfather writes it in 1938, on having requested the correct information about his birth. Here I attach this note, as other documents.
I believe that the only way of knowing who his family was is looking for the censuses right there; in RI (I don’t know where they guard RI's censuses of 1910 and 1920.
Because I have tried to search with these directions(addresses) across ancestry his name does not appear …, I have found two families in 399 Eddy Street but they were not the family, and I still do not find 1920, 418 Wickham.
Do you think if it possible that we can ask someone to look for the censuses of these years to seeing if he finds something???? I imagine that we have to pay, there is no problem. Do you know of someone?

I will be grateful to you for anything you could tell me.

Regards
Maria Alejandra

I looked in 1850 and 1860 Rhode Island, there were no Kerners at those times. Have you seen the name misspelled and how was it spelled? Do you know if he lived any place else? Did he have a middle name?

Re: 1910 census request

Because the 1910 census is not indexed, I tried the 1920 census first. I did find Joseph Rapoza and his family. Some corrections on their ages:

Joseph Rapoza age 43 (rather than 45) in 1920
Mary Rapoza (wife of Joseph) age 41 in 1920
Michael age 12 in 1920
Ernest age 21 in 1920
Joseph age 18 or 19 (looks kind of fuzzy, but more like 19 than 18) in 1920

They were living in East Providence, Providence Co., RI in enumeration district #112. By comparing the description of this enumeration district with a map and looking for a matching area in an enumeration district for 1910, I may be able to find the 1910 census for this family. The reason for my interest is that my mother-in-law's family came from the Azores to East Providence, RI around the same time that your Rapoza's came from Portugal to RI. Who knows, but maybe they were family friends?

-Marjorie :)

Re: Edward Wilcox, son John Wilcox who married Mary Crosby, please help!

According to Beaman (Rhode Island Genealogical Register, Oct 1979), Edward Wilcox (Thomas, Stephen) was married only once, to Amy. The Edward who married Mercy and Esther was Edward (Stephen, Stephen). So, Amy was the mother of all the children of Edward.

Based on probate records in Richmond, Amy's sister Mary was married to Stephen Wilcox (Stephen, Stephen, Stephen, Stephen). Arnold's vital stat's indicate that Stephen married Mary Sheffield. This would mean that Amy was Amy Sheffield, as commonly reported on the internet. I have been unable to determine the parents of Mary and Amy Sheffield.
