Indiana "census" data before 1816

Classification: Query
Indiana was admitted as a state in 1816. The first Federal Census data that I have found for Indiana is 1820. The current Indiana was part of the Northwest Territory in 1790. It became Indiana Territory in 1800. Can anyone tell me if "census" data exists for Indiana prior to 1820? - or is it just a matter of looking for tax data?

Thanks for any advice.

Jane
