I have found out when Alice died, she died in Jan-Feb-March 1966, in Calder, Yorkshire West Riding. Her death is registered as "Alice M. Garnett". It says that she was 83, meaning that she was either born in 1882 or 1883.

When I checked the birth registry for 1882/1883, it appears that there was an Alice Maud Gowing born in Norfolk, and one in Suffolk. I'm assuming that she was the one born in Norfolk, since she lived there, but all of this information has still not helped me to find her in the 1911 census!
