I am researching my partner’s family from North Wales and I am stuck with tracing the Gelshon family in the 1891 Wales census.
The details I have are:
Names:
Michal Gibson [Michal Gelshon] b. abt 1852 Westmeath, Ireland
Mary Gibson [Mary Gelshon] nee Ryan b. abt 1853 ?Wrexham, Denbighshire, Wales
Michale Gibson [Michael Gelshon] b. abt 1879 Wrexham, Denbighshire, Wales
John Gibson [John Gelshon] b. abt 1880 Wrexham, Denbighshire, Wales
Annie Gelshon [Annie Gelshon] b. abt 1882 Wrexham, Denbighshire, Wales
James Gibson [James Gelshon] b. abt 1883 Wrexham, Denbighshire, Wales
Mary Gibson [Mary Gelshon] b. abt 1886 Wrexham, Denbighshire, Wales
Patrick Gibson [Patrick Gelshon] b. abt 1887 Wrexham, Denbighshire, Wales
Rosa Gibson [Rosa Gelshon] b. abt 1889 Wrexham, Denbighshire, Wales
Event: Wales Census
Event Date: 1891
Relation: Boarder (for all)
Record Type: Household
Registration District: Wrexham
Sub-district: Wrexham
Ecclesiastical Parish: Wrexham
Civil Parish: Wrexham Regis
County: Denbighshire
Page: 28
Piece: 4618
ED, institution or vessel: 29
I have cross-referenced other records and I am sure that Michael and Mary have children named Michael, John, Annie and James.
Is there any indication on the 1891 census if Mary, Patrick and Rosa are also their children? Does it say where they are boarding?
I also have Hugh, Joseph and Peter being related to Mary, Patrick and Rosa. Mary, Rosie, Hugh and Joseph were in the Wrexham Union Workhouse on 1901 census.
I believe Patrick died in 1907 but cannot find him on the 1901 census.
Any help with the Gelshon family would be very much appreciated, thank you.
