Looking at these records, I see that there was a "boarder" living with my family members - thing is - the boarder was three. Could anyone help me understand what this might have meant back then.
The child in question is Albert V Llewellyn, and I can follow the paper trail that has him emigrate as a single man to the US, he turns up as a lodger at a boarding house in Spokane, WA in the 1910 Census, then he enlists in WWI from Utah, and as far as I can tell, that's the end of him.
I feel curiously responsible for finding out more. Perhaps because I have a three year old son of my own.
