You may have already found this information, however, Richard DOWBAKIN was the illegitimate son of Ellen DOWBAKIN born: 1839 in Withy Trees, Lancashire. Soon after his birth she married a Matthew HUDSON, Grocer and they appear on at least the 1861 census as HUDSON (although Matthew has been transcribed as 'Murtha'.
