i have a Maria Ward (1820) , her daughter Mary Ann ( my great Gran) and a Henry Ward.
i also have Samuel Ward (1796)- the father of Maria .

I have found a marriage record for John Arkle and Sarah Shaw - Lancaster 8e 1055 Marriages Mar 1891.
Do you think this could be them?
I presume they then moved to the Isle of Man?
There is a birth record for Digby Arkle for 1898 Vol A. Page 386 in Ramsey, IOM.
Do you have any further info I can go on?

I don’t think that the remaining bits of the 1831 census for Co Derry are on line in one batch. At least I have never found them. I have a copy of the section for Dunboe Parish only, and can tell you that there are no Todds on it.

A copy of the remaining bits of the census is held at PRONI and I believe Coleraine Library has a copy too but as far as I know you need to get someone to look them up for you. Alternatively I have seen messages on the Rootschat site http://rootschat.com/ which suggests that some of their members may have access to copies. I suggest you try asking there.

The 1831 isn’t quite as comprehensive as subsequent censuses. What it records is the name of the owner/occupier, his/her sex, the number of servants and their sex, the total number of people in the household and the numbers of each religious denomination. So you don’t get names of all the family, their relationship to head of household nor any ages.

I have been searching and searching the internet trying to find where I could get a listing or copies of the pages from the 1831 Census for Co Londonderry for all the Todds or at least the family of Joseph Todd b 1798?

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I can not afford to pay 5 pounds for each of a dozen entries, but was hoping to find a published source that could be photocopied?

could anyone help me find census on thomas castles who married a hannah cann, had child name george born 1819 in walkern hertfordshire england trying to find if they had more children, george married ann burgess in australia where he was a convict on the norfork ship still dont know what he had done bit of a mystery found docoments but what he was convicted of was erased out but you can just see that there was somethink their, if thomas and hannah had more children it could be john,william,thomas found something years ago but since the site up graded cant find anymore i dont have full membership just yet hope anymore could help if you can please could you let me know

I know that Samuel Shaw was born in 1819. His father was William and he had 3 brothers, Walter, Joseph and James. There were also 2 sisters Eliza and Ann.

I am looking for information from the 1831 or 1841 England census.

It is the family of John and Esther O'Brien.

I do know that there were two marriages with these names during this time.

John O'Brien and Esther Simons married 2/13/1828 at Saint Martin in the Fields, Westminster, London, England

John O'Brien and Esther Geary married 5/14/1833 at the Cathedral in Manchester, Lancashire, England.

John was born in Ireland 1803 and Esther in England in 1808.

the children names were Elisa O’Brien, Esther O’Brien, James O’Brien, Samuel O’Brien, Sarah O’Brien, Catherine O’Brien, Peter O’Brien, Anne O’Brien, Rosetta O’Brien, Edward O’Brien, Amelia O’Brien, and Mary O'Brien

the kids were all born in England between 1828 and 1848 so it makes sense that it was the O'Brien/Simons marriage. but i have included everything i have.

The family immigrated to the US in 1848.

if there is anything you can do to help me identify where this family came from in England i would really appreciate it.

William Cook was born in Engelfield Berkshire in 1796, I think his parents were William and Amelia Cook born c1775 also living in Berkshire. Hi,
I'm trying to find info on a John Leatherd born in Lancashire (c1800). The only info i have is that he married Mary Butler in 1826 in Whalley, Lancashire. He is present in record of his son John Leatherd's christening in 1834 Padiham, Lancashire. However he is not present in the same house as his family in the 1841 census and in 1851 Mary is said to be widowed. Any more information that could be obtained would be great appreciated as I'm really struggling!
