What about an 1880 Census in the county that I am certain my family lived in at the time, the wife and two sons names are accurate though all the ages are off by a few years. The youngest is listed as 2 and later census records have him as born after the 1880 census was enumerated, but just by a few months. There is no proof of birth to be found on him and the 1890 census is not available. 1900 Census shows him born in October 1880. This family had been in the same county since 1810. There is no other record of them in 1880 and I have searched each page of that counties 1880 Census. They are still in the county in 1900. Also, the head is listed as Joel and it should be David. David had a brother 4 years older than him named Joel. The brother Joel had married someone else in 1878 in the same county, but him or his wife are not listed in the census for that year nor any census after that. In your opinion is it the wrong family all together? Is it possible that the Census taker finished on a later date than what it states? or maybe by 1900 the Mother (who is head in 1900) was wrong about when her son was born? I have recently ordered his death certificate from Vital Statistics and am anxious to receive it, but I feel like his exact birth date will not be given. I'd love your expert opinion.
