Don't know if this will help.I'm having similar problem with finding my grandfather...You may have to check with the grounds people...If they couldn't afford a headstone at the time but paid for a plot they would have been buried with no marker. At which point one of two things could have occured, a}buried and there is some record at the cemetary, or b, unfortunately noone made any inquistions on the plot was resold and sold to someone else remains of previousowner unknown.

Hi Bill,

I am reading this post for the first time. I am usually not on the message boards. However, I was drawn to the board tonight. I am a descendant of Jony, Tarlton, Moses, John, and William Wormley. I was in Fredericksburg a few years ago looking for information about my mother's paternal side of the family that lived in Fredericksburg, Virginia. I found that one of the old cemetery's had been paved over as a school parking lot near George Street. A number of the graves there were moved to another cemetery that is further down past the school. I do not have the name of the cemetery but if you look for the name of Tarlton Wormley or Jablton Wormley on find a grave you may discover the name of the cemetery. I have not had a chance to get back to the cemetery to see the grave for myself. There were actually two Shiloh Churches. You may want to look for the Old Church site. The road that the cemetery you may be looking for is not in the heart of the city it is on your way out of the city. Additionally, if you call the courthouse they have records that could tell you the name of the cemetery. We may possible be related through these individuals. Tartlton Wormley actually owned a house on George Street. Hope this helps. M
