Portsmouth, Va. cemeteries
There are two very old public cemeteries in Portsmouth - both are on London Street on either end of Park View. Does anyone know the name of these, or how to access records? Looking for Gracie Bryant

Re: Portsmouth, Va. cemeteries
Thanks for the reply. I have just started putting up pictures and enjoy it. As you see, I have linked up with Britt relatives (second cousins) and Bryant relatives (second cousins)(Bruce Britt's mother's family) and they are a treasure trove of info. They still live in the homeplace, had never heard of the Portsmouth Britts as we had no knowledge of them. We are having a wonderful time exchanging info. I have discovered that Evergreen Cemetery in Portsmouth is the burial place of Frank Brett, my grandfather Bruce's uncle, and his family. Who knew? More later,

Is yours a public tree on Ancestry? What is the name of it?

Re: Portsmouth, Va. cemeteries
Barbara,
You asked a question about how to obtain information on cemeteries back in 2009. If you have not learned about this source, visit findagrave.com. It is free and has many many many records pertaining to the deaths of people world wide.
There is a form you fill out after entering find a grave. Several ways to find or discover loved ones resting places.
First, however, for one way you have to know the exact name of the cemetery you are seeking, but once that is known, it is a piece of cake to discover loved one.
The way to find cemeteries is to type what you believe the name is of any cemetery into your Internet Browser, where the cemetery is located, and then let your computer do the rest. If your first attempt at doing this is not successful, then rearrange you data within your Internet Browser.
There are several ways which you can filter any cemetery you seek. For example you are looking for all the Brett names within any state listed in findagrave, you can do so, as well as by county, or city, or the whole world for that matter.
An incredible site that renders invaluable assistance to anyone within genealogy.
I'm going to send you a personal message, directing you to this your original message dated 20 December 2009 at 5:31 AM.
Regards,
Sgt Raymond L. Britt, USMC (Veteran)
