Am looking for a photo of gravesite/stone of William Depew b. 1845 Iowa, or John Depew b. 1847 Iowa, &/or relatives.

Do you know what cemetery they are in?

Re: Cemetery photo- John Depew/Lydia Wright
I found stone for William Depew & wife Mary Alice Whitehead. Now I'm looking for John Depew b. 13 Jan. 1847 d. 22 May 1922 (place unknown) & his wife Lydia Wright b. ~ 1851 d. unknown. They are presumed to be in a Utah cemetery. I'm hoping someone will recognize the names. This Depew line has strong ties with Elmer's in the Payson area.

Re: Cemetery photo- John Depew/Lydia Wright
I looked through the census for utah for your names and couldn't find them. I did find William and Mary Depew of which you already had that information. Does anyone know about children to these two. Was there other marriages to John? William and John were brothers, right? Was John born in Iowa? Do you know if he actually left his birth state? I'll be glad to help you but I need all the information you have about him and his wife. Or maybe perhaps this is all the information you have. Let me know

Re: Cemetery photo- John Depew/Lydia Wright
Appreciate your help. John was born in IA, but crossed west with brother William in 1852 with Uriah Curtis wagons (Mormon trek). I am a descendant of William. No one I know seems to know anything of John. The only clue I have is a possible marriage to Lydia Wright. As a child he was in the care of Gfather John Elmer & Harriet Brunson. That's where I lose track. I think I saw a marriage for him on FamilySearch indicating a marriage to Lydia. I do not know if he married more than once. Do not have current records in front of me at this minute. Will have to check further. I don't know any of his descendants. He's our second brick wall. First brick wall is his father Joseph Depew. I live in Canada, and am trying to use web resources to flush out clues. Thank you.

Re: Cemetery photo- John Depew/Lydia Wright
I checked Payson Cemetery and I can send you a list of Depew's who are there if you want to send me your email address. I have ancestors from Canada, all in the Quebec and Ontario areas. I would like to visit there someday.

Re: Cemetery photo- John Depew/Lydia Wright
Yes William (Mary) and John Depew are brothers. Both migrated west to SLC from Council Bluffs, IA in care of S. Williams. It is our understanding that John married and divorced a Lydia Wright and later never remarried. We are trying to find obit of cemetery.

Re: Cemetery photo- John Depew/Lydia Wright
We have William's gravestone picture from Payson Cemetery. We think John may be in Juab somewhere as we don't think he is in Payson.
My family resides in Southern Alberta. Quebec & Ontario are very pretty provinces too. Each very distinct.
If you're able to help, that's very kind. Thank you.
