I know where the National Cemetery is or one of them, in Nashville. There is one on Gallatin Road or (Pike) in Nasyhville, TN across from the Springhill Cemetery and Funeral Home. Most of the markers I have seen in the front section are just the crosses. There are some in the back section.
1. When was Mr. Gilkison (b) and when did he (d)?
2. Are you sure he hasn't been moved to another
Cemetery? At one time National had some flooding
and some of the caskets and stones had to be
moved.
Our niece moved her husband to another cemetery due to that flooding. I think they finally got that problem solved now.
If you would please send me his date of birth or death, I will check on that for you the next time I am in that area.
Please advise.

regards,
Jane

You and the wife are most welcome. Now, I am just wondering IF the marker still remains there, or if it were moved? I may have told you there was some flooding problems from underneath the ground.
I can't promise you a date as to when I can get it made but, I will do it. I know how important that is to all concerned. Just bear with me, please.

Jane

Jane, I don't know if his remains were moved or not. The information I have is directly from the Nashville National Cemetery web site.

I have a photograph of my Great Grandfather's headstone. He was in an Alabama regiment. My wife's Great Grandfather was in an Ohio regiment. It would be nice to have both photographs for the family tree.

Regards,

Marlin and Shirley

Marlin & Shirley:
I haven't forgotten about making a photo of the marker for you. It's just that a lot has been going on, but I should be over in that area within the next week or two.
That is way out of my way but I do want to make it for you.
Just hang in there. I imagine his marker may be just like all the rest in the Cemetery. But, I will check for you
soon.

Sincerely: Jane
