I am trying to find out which cemetery my great great grandfather was buried in. Here is the information that I do have:
Arthur J. Turgeon b. 10 JULY 1871 NH
d. 1 NOV 1946 Pawtucket
buried 5 NOV 1946 Pawtucket
Parents: William Turgeon and Elizabeth (Dickson).

I cannot seem to find any further information on him and I can't seem to order a death certificate either.
If anyone is willing to help me on this, I would sincerely appreciate it!
Thanks in advance.

What do you mean you can't seem to order a death certificate? What have you tried? Let us know,

If you look up how to obtain vital records for birth, death, marriage, etc.... it says on there that you have to either be the person named, immediate family, etc, or have a court order! Maybe the ones I am trying to obtain are not "old" enough? They are all birth and death certs from before 1950...
Is anyone else having this issue as well, or am I possibly doing the wrong thing??

You don't need to be a relative. You must be looking at the state Vital Records department. You can get this from the state archives. They have Deaths: 1853-1953

Fill out this form and send it by email to the address below.

They will mail the cert. with a bill. Last time I ordered it was 15 cents for a copy of the ledger page, and $2.00 for a certified copy. You can ask for one or both.

If you are in RI or near, you can go to the archives in person. Check also the American French Gen. Society. I think they have these films as well.

There are a lot of choices for a cemetery, but assuming your person was french canadian and catholic, you could call Notre Dame Cemetery in Pawtucket 401-725-1333. If he's not there, you might want to wait for the death certificate.

If that doesn't give his burial place, you can contact the providence public library for an obit lookup. Since you have the date of death, they will look in the Providence Journal for you and send you a copy for a fee.

You can also call the Pawtucket Library to see if they do look ups in the Pawtucket Times. Contact info on this page

I also have a great grandfather named Arthur J. Turgeon born in NH in July 1870 and relocated to RI was married twice, first to Marie who passed in 1917 then to Rose around 1920.

Are we talking about the same person here?
