What does "F. O. B." mean when carved on a tombstone?
I was lucky to find some online photos of gravestones of people I have been researching.
I notice that some of the stones have "F O. B." carved on the stone along with the name and date.
Can someone enlighten me as to what "F. O. B." means?
Thank you

Is it FO"B" or FO"E". The "B" and the "E" can be confusing. If it is an E it could stand for Fraternal Order of Eagles.

clareburrows: FOB is a slang term for immigrants, meaning Fresh Off the Boat. It's usually heard used by first generation or second generation Americans of any ethnic group, in order to distinguish themselves.
