Findagrave has photos of Alice and Edward's grave stones if you're interested. I checked the Phila Inquirer historical archives (stops at 1922) for Alice death notice but no luck. Checked Phila Inquirer regular archives (starts at 1981) for Dominic, Carmello and Edward Barbone and Roger Scully but no luck. Also looked at Delaware County Daily Times archives but none of these people were listed..

Checked SSDI for them and found an R. Scully born 2/1/1902 who died 12/1997 in Delaware County. Could he be yours? Found Dominic and Carmello at Ancestry and Family search but no death date either place.

I found Edward's grave stone, thank you. But, I realized Alice was not of my family. I have check the Philadelphia Inquirer, and the Delaware County Daily Times multiple times, and have not been able to find any of them....and the kicker is, I know they were buried there! What is SSDI?

The family searches that you found for Carmella and Domenic are probably my records, as I keep on stumbling over them.

SSDI = Social Security Death Index and is a great resource to find death and birth years as well as last residence. It can be accessed at familysearch.org and other places too such as rootsweb. Do a google search and you'll find many sites that offer it free. Ancestry offers it free but makes you sign up for a trial membership before showing the information.

Thank you for the info; I will certainly look for other sites that offer the free info.

Did you sign up for the SSDI thru Ancestry? Since it is a free trial; did they let you know when the free period was over so you would not be charged? Do you think it is worth it?

I have so many that I cannot find the death dates on. Very frustrating when you know where they were buried etc. and I cannot find info. Even for marriages before 1950 - you know there has to be a record, but I cannot find it.

Thank you for your help!

Joann, SSDI is free on many sites although i don't know for how much longer since Congress wants to restrict access to it. I use it through familysearch.org. Stephen Morse site also has it free of charge. Just do a google search for stephen morse.

I access Ancestry through our public library so i don't pay for it as a personal subscription. I am not sure if they notify you if your free trial is expiring but i would not take a chance. I have signed up for such free trials in the past and always make a note to cancel before the trial period is over.

have you checked familysearch.org for the marriages and deaths you're looking for? I would be happy to search for you if you give me the names and what you know about them. Email me at mab4kidsATyahoo.com Note the AT instead of @ i am doing that to avoid spam so just remove the AT and insert the @ symbol.
