Was it an Odd Fellows Cemetery? There were several cemeteries in that area that were removed (how well I don't know) about 1951 to erect a high rise housing project - the Raymond Rosen Housing. If it was Odd Fellows, you might find some info at the Lawnview Cemetery, Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046.

Not that I am aware of. I am fairly new to Philadelphia research and this is the only information I have right now regarding this cemetery.
I think I had heard this cemetery was moved but if I recall correctly, it may have been during the 1920's???

I visited Glenwood Cemetary in Broomall, PA last Friday, June 27. I called first and I was given an appointment.

They have records for the reinternment from 27th & Ridge Avenues, Philadelphia location. I forgot to ask if they had the original records.

I was told if there was a monument in Philadelphia, that was moved with the body.

They were very pleasant and helpful, and gave me a photocopy of the cards from the reinternment of my gggrandfather and gggrandmother Fahrner, three infant children and a 24 year old son and his wife.

I was under a time constraint - you can't keep the plumber waiting, but the gentleman helping me said that the section where my family was reintered had no monuments, so I did not check out the site itself - cemetary is well kept.

Hope this of help.

Thank you for the information. If anyone buried there is a US Veteran, you can get a free grave marker (horizontal or standing) from the US Government. Costs to install are paid to the cemetary. There is information about this at the VA Website at www.cem.va.gov. That way it would be easy to locate your family in the future.

I am hoping to find someone that is willing to go to GLENWOOD MEMORIAL GARDENS CEMETERY and take a picture of my mothers headstone. If anyone is willing to do that for me can contact me at "uplandpakid@yahoo.com". I really really would appreciate it very much.
Thank You Barbara
