My Great Grandmother lived across the street from the cemetery back in the 1920's. She lived at 1921 N Newkirk street. I remember her telling me about when the cemetery was moved. They used to sit out on their steps and watch. It rained alot at the time and there was a mudslide, causing coffins and corpses to spill out onto Glenwood ave. She recalled people looting the jewelry and one lady who took a mink stole.
