I live in Bowie Texas and have a head stone that has MARTHA CASTEEL 1867-1962. The only Martha I have found is from Oregon. I would have no idea how it got to Tx.

Question is: where did you find the headstone? I found several Martha Casteel(s)on find a grave, none from Texas.

A friend of mine has a lake cabin at Amon Carter in Bowie Tx.. They found it there and is still there.

I replied on the other board as well. This looks like her at www.familysearch.org It says she was buried in Rosemont, Wichita Falls, Texas

Mrs. Martha Casteel died in Hospital

Mrs. Martha Casteel, 94, a resident of Wichita Falls for 42 years, died at 4:30 A.M. Monday in a Wichita Falls hospital following an illness of several years.
She made her home here with her daughter, Mrs. C.A. Stearns of 1607 Elizabeth, her only direct survivor.
Born May 25, 1867 at Boonville, Mo. Mrs. Casteel had come to Wichita Falls from Dayton, Wash. 42 years ago. She was a member of the Methodist Church.
Services will be held at 4 P.M. Tuesday in Hampton-Vaughn Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Foy Thomas, pastor of Grant Street Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery.

Mrs. May Stearns Dies her Thursday

Mrs. May A. Stearns, 97 year old Wichitan, died Thursday in a city nursing home. She was born Jan. 21, 1888 in Kansas. Services will be at 2 P.M. Thursday in Hampton-Vaughn Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Perry of the Grant Street United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery.
