Does any one in the area of Grants Pass know of the Deer Creek Cemetery(may be named something else)in "Dryden" or
"Selma"? My Grandfather, John T. Harmon, Sr. is burried there and my great grand parents are there also. Looking for pix of headstones of these. Thanks!

I am not sure if anyone ever got back to you on this but Deer Creek Cemetery is in Selma, Josephine County, Oregon. Are you familiar with the website www.findagrave.com?

You can see information on this cemetery at the following (cut and paste into your browser):

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&GRid=30...;

I have been entering Deer Creek burials into the Find-A-Grave website and just entered about 15 Harmons for you. Go to the website and as you look at the memorials you will see an area at the top of the screen where you can request someone in the area of the cemetery to go out and take a photo for you. You have to do this for each grave you want photographed. It may take awhile (it[s done by volunteers and some of the cemeteries are way out in the boonies)but once someone photos the graves and posts them to the memorials on Find-A-Grave you will be notified via e-mail. You can ask that person to also e-mail you a photo or you can "right click" on the photo on Find-A-Grave and save it to your computer.

I would be glad to take the photos for you but I am up in Lane County so that's not going to work. I just happened to be entering data for the cemetery and stumbed upon your post.

I hope this helps!
Tami

If you need any help with Find-A-Grave, just e-mail me directly at:

tamtam58@comcast.net

I spend most of my days posting information on that site so I can probably help you if you get stuck!

You can see the map on the Deer Creek page, maybe you'll be able to take a jaunt down there yourself someday. In the meantime, hopefully, a Find-A-Grave volunteer will help you out with the photos.

I know this is a longshot. It has been many years since you posted this. My grandmother just passed away at the
age of 100. She grew up in Grants Pass. Her mothers maiden name was Harmon her first name was Alma. She married George Kiphart. There were a lot of notes and papers, obits, and pictures of family and a lot of them were buried at Deer Creek Cemetery. Just thought we might compare notes.

I have a folder I put together for a family member on the Harmon-Kiphart family. I would be glad to send you that information if you can supply me a e-mail address.
