Cherokee on Headstone?

I have a great-grandfather William Rowland, who I know very little about, who is buried in GreenHill Cemetery near Muscogee.

When I look up Finda a Grave I see "Cherokee" written across the top of.

IS there some significance to this, or was this strictly something a family member made a choice to?
My great grandpa Harry Roberts died in Hansen, OK late in 1900. His wife was Mary Easter Watson-Roberts. After Harry died, Mary married Robert Thomas "Tom" Lessley.
I think it is possible that Harry Roberts was buried in the Lessley Cemetery. Does anyone here live in the Hansen/Muldrow area that would be willing to lookthrough the headstone in the Lessley Cemetery?

thank you,
Jim Long

Looking for a grave (two graves actually)

I am looking for the graves of George Ransom Beckwith, born nov 1853 in Penns. He married Sarha Ward in Iowa, between 1900-1905 they divorced. He had homesteaded at least 3 sites in Oklahoma in the Kingfisher, Logan and Canadian areas, then he was said to have died before April20, 1910. That turned out to be false he was in Seminole County Oklahoma with his new wife Pearl Lankford Beckwith. They had 4 children Carl, Alma, Geneva, and Sam.
Please I have almost every census with them in it, ok I don't have a 1940 census, that would be wonderful. The last place I know they lived was in Hana, Oklahoma, and that was 1930.
I believe George was still alive as late as 1946, reason being his youngest kid, Sam, told his son, "The old bastard was still alive, if he had wanted to see me he could have."
It seems none of the children cared for him much, seeing as to how Sam was sent away to an orphanage, and the girls were sent to live with other families. And I lost track of Pearl.
I believe she died sometime after 1930 or she left the family, I believe she died, no one ever had a bad word about her. Then George seems to disappear also after 1930.
It is believed by their grandson they lived some where's around in MacIntosh County Oklahoma when they died. I seached and the only graves for a George or Pearl Beckwith I found was in Westwood Cemetary, I believe that is the name of it, it's close" But they are the wrong ones. They dates don't match and while studying them I found out they was either black or freedmen.
Now back to my problem at hand, Where do they lay? I am looking for them and I haven't found anything ass of yet. I even looked where her brother James Lankford is buried, no luck. If someone knows something about them, please let me know. My e-mail is cowbaron1892@yahoo.com , and thank you for you time

I am having a difficult time making sense of where your post came from... it says Oklahoma Cemteries up at the top and I can't, for the life of me, remember how Sven and Anna Brita, etc would be tied to that topic! Anyway, I was able to see that someone had posted many photos and a prayer book attached to Anna Beata Andersdotter, but when I clicked on them it said they were "no longer available". I clicked on your name to see if I could access your tree through your profile, but did not see a way to do it even there. So. I don't know what to do from here. It has been some time since I worked on this family. All of my information from Sweden was done by a lady I hired, since I cannot read Swedish. --One reason I may not be able to access your photos for Anna Beata Andersdotter could be if it is somehow part of an 'international' collection or, perhaps an international tree since right now I only can access U.S. records. Just a guess.

~Carol Van Cleef

I'm a first cousin, three times removed from you ancestor Mr Svensson. My great grandmother Emma Andersdotter Garrett 1866-1955 was his first cousin. Their mothers, Anna Brita Andersdotter and Anna Beata Andersdotter were sisters in Sweden. I have a page from a prayer book passed down in the family which I included in my entry on ancestry.com
Oct 1935 - Garber, Garfield Co., Oklahoma

Parents:
William Henry Lee
Elizabeth Jane (Dick) Lee

Husband:
Jabez G. I had assumed that's where she was buried but have had no luck finding her. Recently I came across info that says she is buried in Louisburg, Miami Co., Kansas. She has relatives buried in Louisburg Cemetery, so I would like to assume she is there...but its always better to have proof. If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Not related helping someone else, this fellow was born in Kentucky, he was married twice it appears, his first wife was Susan Carroway, his second was Henerky (?) this is the first name. Samuel was Baptist Minister and was going to head a church and minister. However his daughter died in 1918 and he went down to help family with his wife and children.
The father of Chancy Alfred Dutton is my ggrandfather Oscar Dutton. After Chancy's first wife died in 1892, she was buried in Belknap Cemetery where her 4 children who had preceded her in death were buried. Chancy now had only 1 son left, Claude Earl Dutton. On 31 Dec 1894, Chancy married Etta M. Stephens in Chautauqua County, Kansas. He divorced her before 1900, no children known from that union. On 7 Jul 1901, Chancy married Nola Nettie Robertson in Grant County, Oklahoma. He had 2 children with Lola, Ferguson Roosevelt Dutton and Juanita E. Dutton. Both children born in Grant County, Oklahoma. He divorced Lola before 1907. Lola remarried a Charles A. Newland, they had 9 children together and both of them, plus many of the nine children are buried in Blackwell Cemetery, Blackwell, Kay County, Oklahoma. Oscar was living with his only son Claude in the 1920's when he came down with cancer. He moved from Carlisle to Blackwell, Kay County, Oklahoma where he died on 10 Nov 1930. His funeral in Blackwell was handled by Roberts and Son Funeral Home. His body was transported from Blackwell to Belknap Cemetery in Chautauqua County where he is buried with his first wife and children. Chancy was one of the original organizers of Belknap Cemetery. The fact that there is no headstone could be explained by the fact that during the depression, there may have not been any money for a headstone. As one of the organizers, he probably already had a plot there for him.

Thank you for checking the cemeteries in Heavener for the burial of Isla Sabin Stevens/ Stephens. I believe since you found no burial record & funeral home records had been destroyed in a fire after her death I will just forget it as the elderly cousin who knows she was buried in Heavener, can not remember the name of the church paying for her burial. Don't believe it is to be found. Thanks again. D

Thank You for contacting me again for I lost your contact info. I went to the Library and was not able to find anything on my own. There are people there that do research for 10 dollars and hour and have more resources to do the research. If you are interested you can contact the Library and you can also put a limit on what you can afford.
