Cavanaugh or Cavanagh
I am looking for information for Thomas Cavanaugh or Cavanagh who was born in 1864. I know he lived in Bay Side Queens as late as 1940.... likely died in the early 50's. I do know that his brother Owen died in May 1965. They both lived in Bayside so I suspect that Thomas is buried near Owen. I would like to confirm that he is buried at Calvary and I would like to know the date of his death.

Yes, I have looked everywhere. I have found info on his brother Owen's death (soc sec index).... so I know when he died. They are both in 1940 census living in Bayside, Queens. John is not listed in the NY death index so I assume he died after 1949... but that is it. I have tried newspapers.com.... to find obit, but nothing. He did have a few sisters living in the area; Helen W Carden died Jun 1967 in Flushing and Elizabeth Neary died 1965 also in Flushing. I suspect that they are at the same cemetery, but no idea where any of them are buried.

Try a website called Fultonpostcards.com. It is a website of old newspapers, nothing to do with postcards, but when you enter the persons name you are searching for make sure that you put quotation marks around the name. You may find their obituaries and it may say where they were buried. One last thing search using Internet Explorer the web page as a search box at the top so that you can find the name once the page loads, be patient they load as PDF files.
