HELP ~ Brookside Cemetery, Englewood, Bergen Co Burial Quandary for James & Margaret JACOBUS

I've just discovered via Find A Grave, that there is a quandary with regard to the burials of James Cornelius aka Jacobus Cornelius JACOBUS & his wife, Margaret aka Maragrietta BERRY.

According to the 2012 Find A Grave memorials created by FaG Contributor Rich H. which are accompanied by a headstone photo, this couple is buried in Brookside Cemetery, Englewood, Bergen Co.

James C. Jacobus Memorial# 102192483 d. 17 Aug 1854

Margaret Berry Jacobus Memorial# 102192618 d. 4 Sep 1855

More recently, 19 May 2015, Find A Grave memorials were created by FaG Contributor NotYourTime for each of these people in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Newark, Essex Co, NJ.

Jacobus Cornelius "James" Jacobus Memorial# 146712564 d. 17 Aug 1854

Maragrietta "Margaret" Berry Jacobus Memorial# 146713224 d. 4 Sep 1855

The Mt. Pleasant Cemetery memorials include burial dates & sec/plot locations derived from cemetery burial records.

I've contacted both Contributors who replied to me.

Contributor Rich H. no longer lives in NJ but said in part, "I don't remember seeing anything that would have led me to believe the stone was a cenotaph. .... I live in ** now, otherwise I would go to Brookside and investigate."

Contributor NotYourTime replied, "I checked the burial records again at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery for James C. Jacobus and his wife, Margaret (nee Berry) Jacobus, and it appears that they are buried here. Some of the burial records will say "removed" which means that they were removed from Mt. Pleasant Cemetery to another cemetery. Not such words appear in the burial records for James or Margaret Jacobus."

Given what was found for Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, it would seem the headstone in Brookside Cemetery, Englewood is a cenotaph but I've discovered that cemetery records aren't necessarily always correct or updated when someone is removed & moved to another location either w/in the same cemetery or to another cemetery altogether.

I need help resolving this quandary but don't live near NJ in order to do this in person.

Can someone check the burial records for Brookside Cemetery in Englewood (assuming they still exist for the 1850's & beyond) and see what is entered for James & Margaret JACOBUS?

I'd like to find out if the headstone in Brookside really is a cenotaph & if possible, when it was installed.

And if the headstone is on an individual gravesite or if it is within a family plot.

Or if the couple was moved to Brookside Cemetery, Englewood from Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Newark at a later time & the Mt. Pleasant records simply were not updated when it happened.

I hope someone local to Englewood can help solve this quandary. Thanks
