wilhelmina or minnie link

Hi i'm trying to find any burial info about my grandmother who died in the early 1950s. She is not listed as buried with my grandfather George Link in a cemetery in Mercer Co. I believe she may have died in Medina ND in Stutsman Co. There is a Link Cemetery in Mercer Co. I don't know if that is just a cemetery with that name or a burial ground mainly for Link family members. My father passed many years ago and I don't know any of the few Links that might be in the area. If you have any info I'd be interested to hear it. Thank you, Bruce Link

Hi Bruce

The North Dakota Department of Health includes the Public Death Index on their website.

A search for LINK, death for the decade of the 1950s, comes up blank for a Minnie or Wilhemina or any variation of those names. The only female death was a Carolina LINK, birth 07/01/1884, death 09/20/1958.

I do find the following:

LINK, WILHELMINE 08/15/1940 Burleigh FEMALE 58 Years 10/30/1881 North Dakota Mercer County

This fits for your grandmother except for the date of death.

You may find proof this is the correct woman and the location of her burial through a death certificate:

Have you contacted the Kronthal Cemetery where your grandfather is interred?

Do you know where the family resided in 1940? She may be buried in that location.

I found more information on the volunteer-run Mercer County, ND, genweb site.

From their cemetery index:

Link, Wilhelmina 58y,9mo,14da 15 Aug 1940 Kronthal Trinity Lutheran

That cemetery also holds George E., Hilda (died at 4 days old in 1906) and twins who died at one day of age in 1925.
