Am attempting to research history of family and wondering if there might be a gravesite for a James Alford Moore (b.1814) and Angeline/Alameeda (Durham) Moore(b 1829) found in 1850 census with children william, james and robert, in Old Tishomingo Co.

Any information would be appreciated.

I, too, am researching the Moore families of Mississippi. My Great Grandfather was Robert Moore. He was born in 1832 in Simpson County, Ms. Do not have his father's name, but his mother's given name wa "Simmie". Reputed to be full-blood Choctaw. Please respond as any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lynda LeBlanc

Lynda,
Do you have idea who your Robert married? Also who was your grandfather?
My grandfather was "Jim" James Alfred Moore married Marguerite "Pheobe" Rutledge.
I show Robert my gr.grandfather married to a Melvina Todd if this is the same one respond back we are cousins.
Robert and Melvina had 8 living children. with my grandfather being the oldest one. Also Robert's father was a James Alford Moore married to a Angeline/Alameeda Durham. This set of grgrgrandparents though I can only find in the 1850 census.

Sorry to say, no relation. My Robert was married a Susan Matilde Williamson in Simpson Co. Ms. in 1852. He moved to Nacogdoches County, Tx. between 1855 and 1860. She was reputed to be full blooded Choctaw. I am at that proverbial brick wall here, having no parents for either of them. My g-grandfather was Rora Olander Moore, the second of eight children. I am looking for info on John Thomas Moore who married my grandmother Myrtle Elba Edwards about 1910. John died about 1935 in Memphis, but was probably born in Grenada Co. Mississippi. Is this anyone you might have info on. Thank you.

Looking closer the CoD does, in fact, state that John T Moore was buried in Raleigh Cemetery.
But buried in unmarked grave in Raleigh is still a possibility if not probable.
