Have you tried using find a grave? findagrave.com you can search by name or by cemetery. If deaths are between 1894 and 1920, you might try seekingmichigan.com then go to death records and type in surname.

We moved on to Historic Elmwood Cemetery in Detroit. A completely different experience. The owners & employees went out of their way to be helpful, even going so far as driving us out to an unmarked grave so we could find it. We joined the Historic Society and were happy to contribute. A beautiful cemetery, a great experience.

Park Church Cemetery - St. Joseph County, MI

I would like to find someone who could help me find Park Church Cemetery located in St. Joseph County, MI. Most likely it is near Lockport, MI. A document has recently been found stating that my ancestor is buried in the Park Church Cemetery in St. Joseph County, Michigan. My Great Great Grandfather Abraham Werner was born Septmeber 2, 1807 in Northampton County, PA and died Dec 31, 1876 in Lockport, St. Joseph County, MI and we have been searching for years for information on where he is buried. Most likely he was buried sometime in early part of Jan 1877. The rest of his family left MI and relocated to Alden, Rice County, KS about 1880.

Abram Jubar

Looking for ABRAM JUBAR, born 1809 in Canada, possibly Quebec. Married Jane Ann Searles and had quite a few children. They lived in New York and Rutland/Castleton, Vermont. In 1864, in the Bay County Michigan marriages, both Abram and Jane were witnesses for Vesta Bofer/Boffee, in Hampton. Jane passed away in 1891. There is no record of Abram's death. I am the 3x's great granddaughter of Abram and Jane (Searles) Jubar, daughter Louisa is my line. In the 1850 Census, it shows Abram as 41, spouse and children listed. In the 1860 Census, it shows Jane as a widow. Yet in 1864, both signed a marriage license for a Vesta Bofer/Boffee. That name is in the line of Abram and Janes daughter Orlantha. Any information pertaining to Abram Jubar would be greatly appriciated. I have everything pertaining to this line but the death of Abram and where he is buried.

I'm looking for my gr gr grandfather Frederick Ritter. I found his wife and 2nd husband at Woodmere, but he's not there. It seems many death certs indicated German Lutheran although this death record was very sparse, I figured I'd give this cemetery a try. Hope we both luck out!

For anyone doing internet searches for Mt. Olivet, Mt Elliott, Resurrection, All Saints and Guardian Angel Cemeteries in the Detroit area, you can now search by name at http://mtelliott.com/genealogy The search will show the cemetery and plot if they are buried at these cemeteries. Beware that some information is in error, some of my family members didn't come up because they were entered wrong, some have the wrong plot. I have visited Mt. Olivet a couple of times (living in Nevada), but I brought my info and stopped in the office, which is a good idea. The cemetery is large and poorly marked. The office help was great, provided marked maps and gave hints on finding the graves. I have not tried the phone number though (except when trying to find a relative while I was there-turns out I was standing on his unmarked grave.) Good Luck on your searches.

I was told by the clerk at Mt Hope that Oak Park was closed due to a flood. The burials were "surfacing" and the families had 10 years to remove them. Most of them were reburied in Mt Hope. My GG grandfather's gravestone shows the year he was reburied 1876 not the year he died 1864.
