Cribean McDaniels, (b. 1829 d. Apr. 20, 1908), died in Calhoun, buried in Oakgrove Cemetary, Branch County

My name is Melissa McDaniels and I am looking for the family of my second great grandfather. I've already looked at census records and death certificates. I have found records indicated they are all buried at Oakgrove Cemetary (Coldwater) but I am wondering if additional records exist for example plot purchase, burial transit permits (Cribean McDaniels died in Calhoun County and was buried in Branch County), causes of death, and list of other family members buried in the plot. I am also interest in obituaries, news articles, and church records.

In addition to Cribean McDaniels (b. 1829 d. Apr. 20, 1908), family members are: his wife Jennie (b. 1836 d. 1896), their daughter Grace (b. 1859 d. 1883), and their son Lewis (b. 1858 d. 1934) and Lewis's child Hammet (b. 1911 d. 1926).

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Hi Melissa,
Here are a few comments.
1. Cribean McDaniels' death record says he was born July 4, 1828.

His tombstone says he was born in 1829.

Find-A-Grave lists five McDaniels buried, or have memorials in Oak Grove Cemetery

Make contact with someone, the Sexton, at the City of Coldwater offices to answer the questions you have about the burial plots.

The writeup about Cribean says he was a veteran of the Civil War. Check if his grave site has a marker stating he was a CW veteran.
Ask the Sexton. If there is no marker, contact someone from the Son of Union Veterans of the Civil War, SUVCW, to find out how to get a marker placed on Cribean's grave.

Good luck.
