The death records for 1892 to 1923 would be at the maine state archives and after 1923 they would be at the maine vital records on water st Augusta Me. You may want to try these if you haven't already.
Hope this helps

My real maternal grandmother was Anna Lawrence Chase born about 1883. She married my grandfater Perley Dale Thurston. They had my mother Alice Louise Thurston jan 25 1919. My mother always told me Anna died when she (LOUISE) was 4 yrs old. Cant find any record of it in that area . My mom was born in Freedom Maine. My grandfater remarried. But it seems like Anna just dissapeared off the face of the earth.Far as i know they always lived somewhere close to or in Maine. Thanks, Connie Oventrop

Your Martin and my William were 1st cousins, so I guess that makes us "Cousins" of some degree of "removed" status. Both branches had GeorgeS.'s born in 1839 which caused me a bit of confusion early on in my research.

I have posted images of the documents I mentioned in my email on my public tree: The Gamaliel Bradford Maine Land Grant Family Tree, if you haven't seen the originals in the Maine Archives. I have only posted some info and people there so far, and have not included any family that did not come to Maine.

Peter came to the Vassalboro area and eventually settled in the Readfield area. I have not been able to find their graves. The Martin Bradford was their son and Peter A. was a grandson. The next generation is buried in Newport Albert my grandfather and George his brother are in two lots across from the maintenance shop on the other end of the road. Philip, Charles and Bess are Albert's Children. Malcolm and 3 unmarked graves are Philip,s boy,s

This is a copy of the E-Mail I sent
Yes the Lyford cemetary is still accessible Directions:
Leave Newport heading towards Corinna on RT 7 approx 1 1/2Miles take road by Nokomis High School (Williams Road)to Nokomis Road take right to intersection on RT43 go straight thru the road is approx 1/3 mile long the cemetary is on the left. Go thru the gate 1st gate nad straight towards the back of the cemetary the stone is about 2/3rds of the way. Hannah on front Samuel on back.
I am not a decendant of them. My gr-gr-gr grandparents are the other Bradfords buried in this cemetary 2 generations of them.
As I said in other Note I came across a Capt. William buried in Brownville but this appears to be an unmarked grave. The burial list mentioned Wife Hannah. I have walked the Palmyra Cemetary's and never came across a William Bradford.

I would be interested in getting more information on the book you have which was written by Axel Reed. I have just returned from a cemetery hunt in Maine, but Starboard Hill Cemetery eludes me. Did you ever find any information on this cemetery? I am not sure if I can get back to this webpage or not so if you could call me at 508-238-0957 I would appreciate it.
Nancy

The South Bridgton cemetery is on Route 107 (South Bridgton Road)next to Adams Pond. Rt 107 is off Rt 117 which is off Rt 302. William Bailey Hague was a two time pastor at the S. Bridgton church which is up the road from the cemetery on Fosterville Rd. The church has a portrait of WB Hague and various Ingalls. I have the church records if you'd like me to do any lookups.
Caroline Jordan Caroline@TheJordanResult dot com

Hi Winnie,
That area of Maine is really pretty; close to the NH border. Paricularly the North Rd. area in P-field; there are some gorgeous views down to valleys with lakes, etc. There very well may be a Baptist Church cemetery up that way where he could be; I once visited a cemetery that is tucked into a spanse of land behind an old house, which you'd barely notice existed from the road. There are tons of small cemeteries that are just hidden in the woods.

I just dicovered that the Parsonsfield-Porter Historical Society has a webpage and I suggest you contact them. I have no doubt that if his stone still exists, they must know where it is or at least can find out. Here is the link:
http://parsonsfieldporterhistorical.org/ContactUs.html

Good luck.
Lisa

Why don't you contact the historical society in Machias or the town office? Maine Old Cemetery Association held a meeting down there a couple of years ago and both were helpful. They have some interesting stones down there. Good luck!

Lisa,

Yes, I think Rev. John B. would be in N. Parsonfield... he lived there many years...and I have found that "a white marble stone and slab marks his burial place." But where is it?
I would appreciate you asking the Gen. Soc. for verification if possible. I think I did see a Family Tree that had his daug. mar. to a Lougee. Maybe there is no cemetery record, but I tend to believe there is one I just haven't discovered it.

You reply and help is greatly appreciated. Anyone could e-mail me or just post here is fine.
Winnie

In July 1889, my husband's gr-grandfather died in a Maine logging accident leaving a widow and 18-month old son.
The family probably could not afford to transport the body back to New York. Where would these loggers be buried?
I am not sure where in Maine the accident took place, perhaps Bangor.
Name:George Harold KIBBIE (name variation is likely). His wife, Mary Elizabeth, and 18-month old son, George H., lived in New York before and afterwards. Not sure if they went to Maine at all.
Are there any logging camp records available?
Thanks, Char KIBBIE
