Cemetery in Crystal, Aroostook County
I have a George Shean whose 1893 death record states he was buried in the Crystal Cemetery. Does anyone know the modern name for this burial ground?

EDIT: I have now found a cemetery on Winding Hill Road. Does anyone know of a transcription for this cemetery?

Jo Ann,
I plan on visiting the Crystal Cemetery on the Winding Hill Road this summer. I live in Bangor, Maine but I will be visiting the Sherman, Patten, Island Falls and Houlton cemteries this summer to locate stones of family members. I'll be happy to check if George Shean has a stone and if so take a picture of it for you. It's been many years since I've seen the Crystal Cemetery, it wasn't very large then and I don't think it's gotten much bigger.
Respectfully,

Thank you very much, Wendy. George was my great-grandmother's first husband.

Re: Cemetery in Crystal, Aroostook County
Jo Ann,
I apologize for it being so long in my getting to the Winding Hill Cemetery in Crystal. I finally took a ride with my dad last Thurs, we had such a great time and it was all familiar territory to him.
I hate to tell you that I couldn't find a stone for George shean in the cemetery. I did take pictures of other's that I found, just in case. They are: William Sheean d15 May 1860 Stephen Sheean d7 June 1868 Michael Sheean d12 May 1872 his wife Jane d29 Oct 1904 Susan A wife of Thomas d9 Sep 1875 Harry R. Shean Sr d1960 Pearl B d1988
Let me know if they will be of any use to you.
Regards,
Wendy

Re: Cemetery in Crystal, Aroostook County
Wendy,
Thank you very much for taking the time to do this. While the names don't ring any bells at the moment, it is making me look into possible cousins of George. And, depending on her age, the Susan might be George's grandmother.
I'll let you know what I find.
