Carol,
I counted 52 Kaiser and 4 Kaisser names listed in the index. If what I tell you below sounds like your family, you might consider buying the book because it probably has a lot of info that you can use. It has baptisms, marriages and burials from 1853-1877.

It lists a 1-year old Louise Kaiser, died 28 Jan 1862, daughter of Michael and Sophia Kaiser.

The same page lists 4 children of Christian and another Louise Kaiser, all of whom died between 17 Aug and 12 Oct 1861.

No burial for a Rosina. It only lists the 1 Apr 1856 baptism of Rosine Friedricka Kaisser, daughter of Johann Michael Kaisser and Rosine Meier.
John

It would be appreciated if you could find burial records on Louise Kaiser died 1862 and Rosina Kaiser (I do not know when Rosina died).

Any information would be appreciated.

Thank you very much.
Carol

It is so very hard to keep the families straight. William Harris who first settled in W. Nottinghamm had a son John who then had sons John & Nathan who in turned both named one of their sons John. Wish I could be of more help. The only grave we discovered was that of Charles and Lydia Harris, who died about 1850's and is at the Friends cemetery. Their tombstones are almost completely covered by shrubbery.

George M. HOLLAND, d. 1884 & Bridget (Devine) HOLLAND, d. 1894, AKA Mary Bridget

Here's what's got me stumped:
I've scoured through find-a-grave, and church records at St. John's, Long Green, MD and Christ Church, Forest Hill, MD. And, I've got E. Arthur's book on St. Mary's Govans. These are all of the logical places that I can think to look for:

George M. Holland, b.~1827, d.1884, and his wife Bridget (AKA Mary Bridget), nee Devine, b.~1833, Ireland, d.~1894

George is the son of Aaron & Rebecca Holland. George and his brother John are listed in the 1850 census as coopers living near Gunpowder post office (near Kingsville). George is also listed as living near McElderys wharf, Balt city in 1850.
John Holland is buried at Christ Church in Forest Hill, MD.

Bridget (Devine) Holland likely emigrated from Ireland in 1846 and lived in the Fells Point area until her marriage.

George and Bridget are married 13 August 1853 by Father James Dolan, pastor at St. Patrick's church in Fells Point. They may have raised their family early-on in Govanstown, near St. Mary's catholic church.

George and Bridget are recorded in the 1870 & 1880 census near the intersection of Fork and Bottom Rd in Balt. county. Their only son, Carville, inherited the property, so I believe they aren't buried too far away. George and Bridget also had daughters Araminta, Clara, and Mary. Araminta and Clara married Allender brothers

Subsequent Holland generations are buried at St. John's Long Green, MD.

Thanks for your help, Joe

Have you tried Jennings Chapel out near route 94 and off of Jennings Chapel Road. At the following web address there is a Jacob Streaker listed as one of the deed holders. I do not see him on Findagrave but he could have an unmarked plot.

http://www.poplarspringscharge.org/index.php?option=com_cont...

He also might be at the Old St James Cemetery, when the cemetery was cleared there were many gravesites marked with just a cross indicating a burial with no stone. The church might have a record. Good Luck our family is related to Jacob Streaker thru his son William and I finally found his cemetery last weekend in Baltimore at St Peters.

There was an Alfred Anderson, Jr. who died in Baltimore on 17 Feb 1934, about the right time to match your information. His death certificate number is E-98595.

This should take you the index page with the listing.
http://www.mdvitalrec.net/cfm/dsp_jump.cfm?startpage=0004&am...
Above the index page is a link to order a copy. The MD State Archives charges $25 for a copy.
Coincidentally, the same page lists an Alfred A. Anderson dying on March 1.
I looked in the Baltimore Sun archives and did not find a death notice or article.
John

Re: Owen family plot - MD

I am grateful that you wish to post to 'find-a-grave'.

By this time... someone has posted; and, a description of that particular 'Owen Family Cemetery" is found by clicking on the cemetery link. The first sentence descibing the location is true. The remainder of the text following, however, is NOT TRUE. It Smacks of 'family LORE'. Rev. Robert Owen b.~1672, d. 1714 was a Welshman, schooled in the Anglican schools of London England and sent to P.G. County, Maryland in 1699. [He was NOT a Scott/Presbyterian]. Maryland land records clearly show all his land dealings. He died on mortgaged land; His probate in 1714 shows his estate was worth 85 pounds... his debits were ~115 pounds. There is a record only that this man had a wife 'Mary'. There is NO RECORD of any issue. This man was located about 25 miles S.S.E. of Olney, MD.

Also: Per Maryland land records: 490 Acres of 'Contentment' was pattened in 1766 by a Robert Owen... a man two generations later; the son of an Edward Owen. This same Robert was Washington Owen's father. After many land purchases and sales, Robert Owen's 1779 will divides the owned land; primarily with Robert's eldest son Edward and Robert's second wife, Mary, and with Robert's youngest child, Washington, who was two years old when his father passed away.

Washington's family did retain his property for some 50 years after his death... His 1/2 brother, Edward's family all sold-out and left Maryland by ~1855.

If you want records, please ask... if you can correct find-a-grave page, please do so.

Hi Rob,
I'm way behind on my research of the Harris family of the West Nottingham Hundred. We know that Nathan Harris who built the Harris House in Rising Sun/Harrisville was my husbands 3rd or 4th great grandfather. His direct line then goes back to John, another John then William Harris who we believe settled there first. Nathan's son John would have been born in the time frame you listed but know he moved to Wisconsin during 1820-1821.
If in my search I find out anything else sure will let you know.
I am thinking there is strong probability that I may be part of this line of Harris. I can connect it back to John Harris born for sure in Maryland in the 1790's or early 1800s. His wife was Elizabeth Krauss, Daughter of Captain Leonard Krauss who was the proprietor of the Crossed Keys tavern in Calvert,MD. I have found some census records showing his address listed as Nottingham Hundred (Nottingham lots?). Family records also indicate that John was a shoemaker by trade. This is all I have so far. If anyone else has something to help put the pieces together it would be appreciated.

Rob Harris

The cemetery was incorporated in 1853 on the grounds of an old estate - and in 1861 the eastern part was bought by the government and used to bury 2300 Union soldiers. There is also a Confederate Hill in the cemetery as well - with the remains of some 600 Confederate soldiers. It is 350+ acres. The old entrance on Frederick Avenue is closed - the main entrance is on Wilkens Avenue now. There is a nice article on Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loudon_Park_Cemetery and some pictures - and there are also burial listed on FindAGrave as well. :)

I am looking for information on Nathan and Susannah Harris who built the Harris House in 1798 in Harrisville, MD , near
Rising Sun, MD. I have owned this house since 1980 when my parents and I restored it and got it on the National Registry.
Pete,
From Wikipedia: "Auburn Junction is an unincorporated community in Jackson Township, DeKalb County, Indiana." If he was from DeKalb County, look there for his Auburn Junction burial. I see the listing at FamilySearch and think they transcribed the state wrong. They probably misread a handwritten IND as MD. I'm pretty sure there is no Auburn Junction in MD. The commonly known one is in the same Indiana County where he was from.
John

Pete, Do you know for sure that he was buried in Maryland? Auburn Junction was a main railroad connection point in Indiana. Washington and New York newspapers had articles referring to Auburn Junction, without listing the state, so it must have been well-known in railroad heydays. The B&O ran to Auburn Junction (IN), where I believe passengers changed to another line for further travel. Just a guess. There is an Auburn in Prince Georges County, near Washington.
John

You say you have looked everywhere? Does that include the MD State Archives, which should have a Death Certificate if he died in Maryland?

Based on the information you have, he was married, had 4 sons and was killed, all by the age of 24. That's possible, but unusual, so you might be skeptical of some of what you've been told. I searched the online death indices from the State Archives and did not find a Maryland death matching what you provided.
The closest I found (construction-age Mullins men who died in Central MD within a few years of 1960) were:
Arnold Mullins, age 39, died 4 Feb 1962 in PG County
Charles Whaland Mullins, age 45, died 18 Apr 1965, Kent County
Palmer J. Mullins, age 48, died 8 Mar 1960, PG County
Donald Mullins, age not listed, died 5 Sep 1960, in Baltimore City

You can view these indices here:
Counties Index, 1959-1968
http://www.msa.md.gov/megafile/msa/stagsere/se1/se8/000000/0...

Baltimore City Index, 1959-1960
http://www.msa.md.gov/megafile/msa/coagsere/ce1/ce42/000100/...

I also searched ProQuest's Historical Newspapers available in Maryland for Nov 1960 and did not get a hit for his death.

Maybe he died in Virginia? To find his first name and possibly age: look for death certificates for any of his children who've died; birth certificates for any of his children if you can get them; marriage record for him and Rosemary; directories or phone books that cover Severn. Maybe the 1940 Census if you have other clues on where he was in 1940. I hope this helps some.
John
I'd be certainly interested in anything you found out.

The family wasn't really that close. The mom died from cancer when the children were young and the dad sent them to separate work farms (apparently a common practice back then). Dale worked as a cook, and had been a cook in the Marine Corps.

The family story is that the Dale was an alcoholic and died of exposure while passed out along the side of the road.

I see two groups of the Hopkins family one in lot 16 and the other in lot 92. Lot 16 is in the very center of the circle at the top of the cemetery and lot 92 further down the hill on the very left edge of the cemetery. I will try to e-mail you a copy of the map or you can contact me directly and I can fax or mail it. You should contact Woodside Cemetery Co. Inc., P.O. I am a member of a group of people to who go cemeteries to take pictures of gravestones for people out of town for "FindaGrave.com" when I got there i found the terrain too rugged for my artificial knees to handle so I gave up. Do you happen to have the location o Bushron Washington Hopkins, Sr. (Jul 31, 1915 - May 30, 2009)? I plan to go back tomorrow 6/5/12 with my grandson to look again.
It is not so bad a neighborhood. There are staff at the cemetery who will escort you if you are unsure of where to go or feel unsafe.
New Cathedral does not always have extensive information on the burials that were transferred from the original Cathedral Cemetery.
If you see reference to Bonnie Brae Cemetery in your research that is also the same as New Cathedral Cemetery.
The staff at New Cathedral is very nice. You can make genealogical requests at: http://www.newcathedralcemetery.com/genealogy.cfm

But you were there in person, right? I don't have that option. Still hoping volunteers start to help with this cemetery on findagrave now that the weather is nice.

I was able to get a cemetery look-up at Fort Lincoln when I told them I was from out of town and coming to the cemetery to find my grandmother/fathers headstone. They were extremely nice and even helped me find the headstones.

Yes, these two names, Cathedral and New Cathedral are one in the same. About 7 yrs. ago when I was visiting family in Baltimore I wanted to visit the cemetery but was told by family that it wasen't a good idea to go there for safety reasons. Anyway, I wrote a letter to the cemetery office and included a throw away camera asking them if they would take pictures of my family graves. To my surprise several weeks later they mailed the camera back to me and when I developed the roll I had some wonderful pictures to cherish. It's another option for you. Good Luck!
