Woodside Cemetery is located on Haviland Mill Road, nr. Ashton, but in the area known as Brinklow. I have transcriptions of the tombstones if there is someone in particular you are looking for.

Thanks for the response but I already located the cemetery.
I am looking for Margaret Leizear who died June 10, 1934 and was buried at Woodside on June 12, 1934. I have her obituary from the Washington Post which confirms the above.
I could not locate her gravestone and the book on Woodside Cemetery (Burials at Sandy Spring Friends Meeting Graveyard and at The Woodside Cemetery 1754 to 2003) does not have her listed.
I did find her husbands gravestone (Richard Thompson Leizear) and he is in the book.
She has been a real problem since I found her listed in the family bible as a niece of my great great grandfather with two names Maggie Ruck and Margaret O'Rourke.
Now her grave has disappeared!!!!
Any help would be appreciated.

The burials in the book for Woodside are from burial records as well as the stones. I do not see any one else buried in Lot 56 other that Richard. They were only married 16 years, so she was still fairly young when he died. I wonder if she remarried, even though her obit had Leizear. If you haven't already done it, I would check with the cemetery to see if any one else is buried in Lot 56 and also who was buried in the cemetery the day she was supposed to be buried. Anyone with the first name Margaret or Maggie.

I did my original transcription of the stones in 1875 and there was no stone for her then.

Montgomery Co. marriage licenses has her last name as Rook - lic. issued 14 Feb 1888.

I checked the Sentinel for an obit to compare to the Post, but did not find one.

Good luck, and I would like to know if you turn up anything.

Thank you very much for your assistance and advice.
I will try to run her down. I did write the cemetery and sent a copy of the obituary but have not heard from them, they only check their P.O. box every now and then.

Surnames: Leizear
Of course, this is many years later, but www.findagrave.com now lists Margaret Leizear as an interment at Woodside Cemetery. The record, entered less than a year ago by Jay Kelly, notes that Mrs. Leizear, the wife of Richard T., died at her home in Silver Spring. Perhaps, if contacted, Mr. Kelly might divulge the source of his information.

Today I visited Woodside Cemetery in Btinklow - Montgomery County, MD. It is located north of Route 108, of New Hampshire Ave by turning right on Haviland Mill Road, just beyond Brinkwood Road. Look for a gate on the right hand side.

I read your post under the question where is Woodside. I found the cemetery but with no ofice I could not find the person I was looking for. I am a member of a group of people to who go cemeteries to take pictures of gravestones for people out of town for "FindaGrave.com" when I got there i found the terrain too rugged for my artificial knees to handle so I gave up. Do you happen to have the location o Bushron Washington Hopkins, Sr. (Jul 31, 1915 - May 30, 2009)? I plan to go back tomorrow 6/5/12 with my grandson to look again. Any help would be wonderul. velma_durant@yahoo.com

Velma,
There was a book published on the graves "Burials at The Sandy Spring Friends Meeting Graveyard and at The Woodside Cemetery 1754 to 2003" but as you can see your burial was at a later date. I see two groups of the Hopkins family one in lot 16 and the other in lot 92. Lot 16 is in the very center of the circle at the top of the cemetery and lot 92 further down the hill on the very left edge of the cemetery. I will try to e-mail you a copy of the map or you can contact me directly and I can fax or mail it. You should contact Woodside Cemetery Co. Inc., P.O. Box 278, Ashton, MD 20861-0278 or the records person Elizabeth Hartge, 301 774-5438 for more information.
Hope this helps.
