I had a very difficult time trying to find a number & location of a cemetery. Finally found it & wanted to share this information. All of the following cemeteries are under the care of the archdiocese of Boston. Their website is www.ccemetery.org & the number for all the listed cemeteries is 888-919-7926. To do a search & get date of burial, age at death & location is $35 per lot. Hope it helps.

Hello. I would really like to find the gravestone of my husband's great-grandparents which is in the Calvary Cemetery in Waltham. They died in Waltham in early 1900's.

But, I am not willing to pay $35 to find out where that stone is located within that cemetery. Does anyone know if there is another way to find out where that stone is?

Betty (near Lowell, MA)

P.S. For my husband's cousin, I found out that the Calvary Cemetery in Winchester borders on Woburn, so it is sometimes known as a Woburn cemetery.

Hi again. I just remembered I could mention that there is a St. Joseph's (Catholic) Cemetery in Chelmsford. But, because it is only a few miles from a set of cemeteries in Lowell, some people think it is a Lowell cemetery.

In that set of Lowell cemeteries, I believe there is a Catholic cemetery; Polish perhaps.

What are their names and exact dates of death? I have found that it is usually always best to call the cemetery department directly regarding headstones and lot locations. Keep in mind that not all cemetery staff have records that are easily accessible and some cemeteries, even if they don't want to admit it, don't have records for certain time periods depending on who was in charge at the time. What I have found is that the Boston Arch Diocese does not like to play the genealogy game and has made it nearly impossible to access records and it is getting more difficult as time goes on.
