Overseers of Public Welfare in the City of Boston / Burials
In 1937, my grandmother gave birth to a baby boy at Boston City Hospital. He died that day and over the next 7 or 8 months, my grandfather paid $1 or $2 a month for his burial. I'd like to find his grave. The receipts I found don't list a name of the baby. It does say the Overseers of Public Welfare was located on 43 Hawkins Street in Boston.
Anyone have any ideas about how I'd find the grave?
Thanks so much!

Do you have his death certificate? That should tell you where he is buried.

Hi Amy, would you care to share the name on the receipt and the date of the first one? It may help us to help you.

I do quite a few Find-A-Grave pages, and in order to find his grave, I would need the names of your grandparents. I do quite a few Family Trees as well.

Hi Amy, a second thought... look to see where family members were buried around the same time, 1937. There may be a small stone near one of them, possibly with no first name.

You would be able to find his birth and death cert at Mass Vitals. FYI - With a birth and death in the same day or with a stillborn - sometimes info was not recorded. So you might be better off finding out where other family members are buried.
Last name would help us help you.
