Fort Scott is located in Bourbon County KS.

http://resources.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/townco.cgi

I have HeritageQuest for census, so unfortunately I can't search 1850. Maybe some one who has ancestry will check it for them.

Reisenauer spelling does not appear in 1860 census, which doesn't necessarily mean they aren't there. In fact, it appears there may have been others also.

Linkpendium is good for links.

Also try their surname search.

Search for Reisenauer in the Ancestral File, 1880 Census, IGI, SSDI, etc. (Source: Family History Library)

These below are in the IGI lists

International Genealogical Index / Germany - 95

67. Konrad Reisenauer - International Genealogical Index
Gender: Male Birth: 26 NOV 1855 Malsch, , , Baden

International Genealogical Index / North America

Matches: International Genealogical Index/North America - over 17 under the ones listed. I hadn't discovered that at the time I did these. I have different numbers and probably don't have all the available possibilities.

Their birthdates should help find them in the census. The one problem... this information MAY or MAY NOT be correct!

I have to go somewhere, so am leaving this in somewhat of a mess. If you can't figure out how the

http://www.familysearch.org/

site works. I'll try looking for them again later.

Sorry for the confusion. I need to learn more about the site myself.

He died there in 1935, he was married to Briggit Moran I am looking for information on either of their parents. My search has come to a stnad still with them. thanks for whatever help you can give me,

I found this on line:
Boat name Weser from Bremen, germany to NY Arrival Nov 18 1871
Francis age 53
Joseph 23
Fridolin 20
Michael 17
Conrade 15
Francis 9

1875 census Freedom, Bourbon Co., Kansas
Francis age 56
Emil 27
F.H. 24
Michael 21
Francis 14
Conrade 17
All Farning

1900 Census Witman Co., Washington
Emil age 52 b Sept 1847 in Germany
Bridget age 46 b: Jan 1854 in Ohio parents from Ireland
Michael 20 b: kansas

1910 Census Witman Co., Washington
Emil age 62
Bridge 54
Michael 30

1920 Census Witman Co., Washington
Emil age 71 widowed

1930 Census
Emil age 81 widowed

Any chance Emil was born in Germany and imigrated in 1871 with his mother and siblings? Go to Kansas State web site and look for death records for Francis, look for marriage records in Kansas or Wa for emil and Bridget.
Social security applications will show parents.

I realized my dates weren't matching very well even though the names and places seemed to work.

I have to say, this certainly seems to be a close fit if there isn't something disproving it.

Problems are Social security applications only started in the 30's I believe. He may have died before he applied.

I'm unaware of an online Kansas State web site to look for death records, and for marriage records in Kansas.

If you've found one please share.

I find records on WorldConnect

http://worldconnect.genealogy.rootsweb.com

and LDS familysearch

http://www.familysearch.org

but, this time I'm getting very little and nothing that matches this family as given.

I'm also wondering about the naturalization answers. His appears to be 1870 and in the USA 29 years. The other two Frank and Michael have 1871 and 28 years.

I may be wrong, but if they arrived in the USA in 1871, I don't believe this was possible.

It also seems Emil must have come earlier or later, since he doesn't appear with the others.

I am looking for information about Emil Reisenauer who was married to Brigoet Moran. Their son Michael was born in Fort Scott, Kansas on 12/2/1879

~~~~~
Shelley has been looking for him for a long time. I'm thinking this may be one of the families that with Germany's involvement in 2 World Wars decided to become real Americans. It could explain a lot.
Okay, I knew about those sites.
I thought you were talking about online free data, and then if you want actual copies, order the records.
Missouri has
http://www.sos.mo.gov/archives/resources/birthdeath/
or places like Renessa Lewis for Jasper Co. MO
http://www.rootsweb.com/~mojasper/sitemap.htm
Illinois has
http://www.sos.state.il.us/departments/archives/databases.ht...
There's other States also with information on line.
Kansas unfortunately, has closed their records to genealogist and their requirements for access to copies seem overkill to me. They just do not want to deal with many requests for various certificates.
Then, Ancestry has a lot, but charges a lot for memberships.
I believe if they'd spend less on advertising everywhere, they could afford to have more reasonable prices on their memberships and wouldn't need to flood places with their ads and hijack links.
I've gotten so I am really annoyed everytime I click on a unmarked ancestry link thinking I've found an information site and I'm taken to ancestry. I don't consider it a good business practice. I know I certainly resent it... and it does NOT make me look favorably on purchasing a high priced membership.
Surnames: Reisenauer
Whitman County, Colton WA
(Source: Baden Immigration 1866-1911)
Weser, November 1871 out of Port Bremen
Franziska b. 1818 Malsch; Ettinger; Baden
Josef b. 1848
Fridolin b. 1851
Michael b. 1854 in Baden-Baden
Conrad b. 1856
Francisca b. 1862
I have postulated given the mother Franziskas age and that they were Roman Catholic, she probably had several older children. Perhaps the Father came over with some of them earlier(?) I am descended from Michael. However, it does seem that several Reisenauers travelled from Kansas to Colton, WA together around 1888. They were all wheat farmers.
