The link below provides a brief history of a burial site of Pioneers in Jasper County,IA, Elk Creek Township, that were buried on the old Dearinger farm. The names of some buried there are also listed. I'm looking for old photos and additional names of those buried at this site.

The Dearingers and the Minors are my step dad's family. He is in Jacob's direct line.. I was wondering if you have heard of a cemetery near where Percy, Iowa was once located? His father showed him graves at a cemetery over 40 years ago - saying they were Minors - and we can't figure out where the cemetery might be?

Thank you.

Hi, I live in Iowa but hadn't heard of Percy. Below is what I found online, not sure if it's the same place. What branch of Jacob's family is your step-dad from?

Cemetery notes and/or description:
The town of Percy and its nearby cemetery, Donahoo, no longer exist. Since 1969 they have been at the bottom of Red Rock Lake. Before the lake was created, the 13 graves there were moved to the Hughes Cemetery about a mile away. None of the 13 graves could be identified by name so all are marked "Unknown."

This cemetery was listed in WPA records as being located in Percy, Marion County, Iowa. Percy is not listed as a city on FINDAGRAVE. A Google of Percy showed it as an unincorporated populated area around 3 miles from the city of Swan in Red Rock Township, Marion County,Iowa.
